LOTUS 80 and FW15C done !

Post by Manu »

Hi guys !
2 kits today, the lotus 80 and the FW15C williams.Both from ST27.
The lotus is a very pleasant kit to build, basic and simpla.A whole piece of resin on which you add suspensions, wings etc. The rest is very easy I used Racing gren from tamiya a bit lighter than British green.

The williams is cool to build too, I've painted the yellow area even though they're given as a decal fron ST27 but only used the white and red stripes. here and there, by little parts, the clear (ts13 as usaul ) has slightly eaten the stripes, nothing bad.
Of course, Prost version. Blue is TS44, that deepens a bit with TS13, matches better in 1/20 than in 1.12.The gear box part that carries the rear wing has been recut otherwise the RW wouldn't be straight.

Next weeks i'll add the MP4/9 froms ST27 that I had trouble of ( no gearbox so i used a tamiya MP4/8 kit engine to put in...not that easy ;) I'll detail that ;)
And also the FW28.Lot of pain with that one....

c-ya guys.Any comments welcome !!!!

LOVE the Lotus 80's shape near the back!

Those little legs on the side of the monocoque for Sega always crack me up. :)

well that's easier when you begin 3 or 4 cars at the time !!!!
Yeah I think this "SEGA" stuff is what people remember a lot. Funnier than the FW14B !!!

manu,

As always, very nicely buid models.
But there is something with the Lotus and a little aswell on the FW15c that I have seen with more of S27 cars of that time.
The tyres do not seem to fit the with of the rims all that well, the fronts are to wide and the rears are to narrow. I have this at some of mine and have seen it on others builds aswell.

And one thing more about the Lotus, should the little edge at the front of the cockpit not be angled up a little instead of bieng flat is on your build.

But otherwise great build models and as always in your extra fast time.

well the little edge is said to be glued flat, and on the few pics I've seen it seemed like it, but maybe you"re right.
for the tyres yeah that sucks, it's always the case on every kits. unfortunatley, thay never corrected this. And it's less obvious on the ols kits like 94 cars for example that the recent one, where it's REALLY obvious...
