WIP: 1/12 Tamiya McLaren MP 4/6
I finally managed to post my current project on here (thanks to lumpulus )
Let's start with some pics
Perfect Parts detail set
Perfect Parts Brake set
Formula Perfect Manual
first steps priming
rear shock assembly
tiny nuts from Model Car Garage
Oil Resevoirs orignial
Oil Reservoirs detailed
Valve Covers
The Honda logos are covered with Bare Metal Foil
then painted black
and finally I lightly sanded the Honda Logos to bring back the shine from the BMF
And this is how the engine looks right now!
That's it for now, I hope you don't have a 56K modem

Looking gooooood.
I LOVE that car, one of my favorites. Which version are you building? Any particular race or generic MP4/6?
------------
EDIT< Moved to the "In Progress" forum

Your thread in Automotive forums says "Complete & in progress", Have you completed the model? If so, I'll move this back to the forum you posted it in.

LOL yeah, I just finished reading all the updates over @ AF. Man you were sooooo lucky to get the valve cover replacements! It's looking really good so far!
Why you decided not to use the PP Honda logos? The process of priming and painting black and then sanding would have been the same.
Any particular reason for this?
Hey, you didn't say which race version ate you building?????

Believe me, I was really happy when I got the replacement parts !
Yes, I think the original Logo looks way better and I wasn't sure how it looks after you glued the metal on the plastic. There may have been a "step" which would have been a lot work (I hate filling and sanding) to remove it. So I took the "easy" way, with the BMF which turned out well (in the second attempt ).
Sorry, It will be definitely a Senna version, but I am not quite sure about the race yet.Neodxun wrote: Hey, you didn't say which race version ate you building?????
For the engine, it will be more like a generic build because I have many pics and there are so many things that changed from race to race. For example the Rear Anti Roll Bar, I have like 4 pics with 4 different colors for it, gold-black, gold, gold-silver or just silver, it's just crazy.
For the body, I am just sure that the windshield will be clear and not red! So the big question is red or white mirrors ??
