Testing the authenticity OF fluorescent paint and decals

Post by dancraft »

Have you ever had the urge to test the authenticity of your Fluorescent paints and decals?

No....... neither have I.

Until I found myself at my modelling desk recently fitting some batteries to a black light for one of my daughters toys and thought.... why not....lol

Anyway, here are a few pics including Ebbro's MP4/30, many aftermarket M@r!b*r* decals and check out that jar of Barchetta M@r!b*r* McLaren red and the needles on BestBalsKits gauges.

Yes, believe it or not it's an old trick :) And yes it's quite spooky yet effective. Anyway, in the end, for small details (such as red lines on Prost's helmet) you can be happy with just a reddish orange ;-)
Then obviously there's the color hue. There's MP4/7, its decals are fluo but too red...
Good to remind the trick, thanks! :D
