Need Ligier JS11/15 pic of rear mechanics...
Need Ligier JS11/15 pic of rear mechanics...
That's it, guys.
A call for those encyclopedian fellows we enjoy here
I need a clear image of rear suspension, gearbox, etc of 1980 Ligier JS11/15. Yes I know there's Gurneyflap and the stuff there (Thansk Alex Nahooy, once again!) is great, but I have serious doubts on the gerabox seen. Curious that it has the attaching points of the rear calipers when it's used on a car with brakes inbooard, in the wheels.
Also I'd like to see well the uprights themselves. I have serached GPI and there's not enough info, even if Piola and Assett were particularly impressed by Ligier's brake efforts that year...
Thanks in advance, guys!!

Re: Need Ligier JS11/15 pic of rear mechanics...
Well, Alex: that's the same car as seen on Gurneyflap. You can saee what I say about the attaching points where the axles come off the gearbox...jordan wrote:Like this ?

Is this any better? Should be of the British GP Brands Hatch.

Hi Only now see that it was you who asked for the picture.JamesB wrote:Wow! That's great Yes no doubt Brands.

Yes thought the theory was wrong but didn't wrote it in my post.
Looks like the period 1980 car still had the calliper brackets there.
You're welcome J.

Re: Need Ligier JS11/15 pic of rear mechanics...
Thanks again to all of you, mates!
Thanks Mario, even if it's a restored car, apparently the configuration is accurate and the view is quite good too.
Yes, Roland, I remember Guy Ligier used to say "I can't even buy a further gear pinion". So no wonder they probably still used 1979 gearbox cases...
Thanks Gilles, your help will be welcome too.
Well, I just realised how different suspension is, even with same concept. Rear shocks are attached to the gearbox itself, not to the spacer. So inner part of rocker arm is closer to 90º with the car axle, not as slanted as in 1979.
Just the oposite of lower wishbone: as shocks take the place of their attachment points, they are wider and the front anchoring point migrates to the spacer. Besides, the small bars taht held the rockers in the front are replaced by a plate, like on the FW07. The reinforcement bars of rear transverse support also disappear.
Little modifications I'll try to depict. wait, little?
