I received some goodies in the mail; this is the wheel and tyre set from AZRM (Mac's Modeling) and Icon Automotive Miniatures for the 1/12 Tamiya Ferrari 312B; the kit front tyres and wheels are far too wide. Note that the AZRM/Icon wheels and tyres will not fit the 1/12 Protar Ferrari 312B2. Icon has released both a slick tyre set as well as "heavy tread" set. Thanks to Mac and Derk of AZRM and Icon for releasing these great parts!

The AZRM wheel centres come in their own little plastic jar

The Icon tyres are excellently cast in soft, rubber-like resin. They'll need minimal cleanup, or none - depending how fussy you are. There is a flat-spot on the bottom; when fitting the tyres to the model, just face it to the ground and you won't see it. Each tyre is cast in two pieces - the sidewall and the tread area.

The "heavy tread" tyres look superb

Tamiya tyres on the left, Icon slick tyres on the right. The Tamiya front tyre is grossly wide

The Tamiya front wheelrim fitted to the Icon slick front tyre. I did not test-fit the AZRM wheels to the Icon tyres since I was cautioned that the fit is very snug and would take some effort to undo.

In this shot, you can see that the Tamiya rim is too deep
