WIP Mclaren Yardley 1/20 - Finished 17/01
WIP Mclaren Yardley 1/20 - Finished 17/01
Hi guys!
I don´t remember if I posted this WIP before.
I posted the final result some months ago.
All work is based in a old M23.
Sadly I don´t have some images about the process.
The entire build process took 3 months and had several twists and turns.
Here are the first works in the monocoque and nose, until the end of this job several things have changed in this area of the car.
The support of the rear wing as all made in scratch with plastic card!
The rear wing come from a copy from the Iritani´s transkit.
The engine air intake also become from the same transkit.
Some of the supplies to do the mechanics in the little box of surprises here at home.
An overview!
Some details in the front, at this point all is wrong in this sector.
At this point I had a gap in the pictures capture, sadly!
When I came to shoot some pictures again I had advanced lots in the painting.
In this point, I began to see that something was wrong with the front wing and the windshield.
So as possible I will put more pictures about this stuff!

Some more pictures. I put the power trains in the chassis:
The "Y" of Yardley, stay under the monocoque cover...
Another perspective about the trouble with th "Y".
I´m angry with the results in the front wing, so I iniciate a new piece.
A diagram to help me in the job.
The new part.
New versus old, the new part looks very better.
I turned off the "Y" and put the new part in his place.
I found that the problem with the "Y" was also related to the coverage of the monocoque, so I made a new piece too.
Behind the Iritanis resin piece, then the original, followed by a mistake job and in the front a new piece.
Soon I´ll put new progresses.

You certainly never choose the quick & easy build do you? How about some pictures of your collection, you appear to like building cars that are a bit different, would be nice to see what else you've built. Nice work here.

Thank Daveyman, I´ll take some shots from my collection, I´m have +/- 100 1/20 F1 cars, all of them are ready, another 70 to do.
Some more pictures from this project.
I tryed use the chassis how it was, but isn´t possible, so I did some improvements.
The old parts with the new chassis;
All new here;
Soon I put the final part!
