I have just heard a rumour from a top source that Tamiya are making a 1:20 Lewis Hamilton Mclaren..!!
No news on which MP4 it will be but the 2008 MP4-23 would be nice but the current MP4-26 would be nice as us brits could do Jenson Car as well.

Well, if Revell can, why not Tamiya? Would be great!
I wonder too if Kobayashi's performance at Suzuka started some movement between the three current main japanese F1 plastic kit makers, Tamiya, Hasegawa and Fujimi. They left the Sato fever pass because they were away of F1 at that time. Would be a shame to miss the opportunity again...

Why can't they do a Red Bull???...
I've always believed that you should never, ever give up and you should always keep fighting, even when there's only a slightest chance.

Re: Rumour Tamiya 1:20 Lewis Hamilton Mclaren
Please let it be so..... and it's a subject that would sell, unlike some of their previous choices...
It's crazy the way Tamiya come and go, blowing hot and cold.... If they chose their subjects a little better they might find the consistent demand that they need.... Their F1 collection has too many multi year gaps, reflecting a slow down in demand as their choice of subject got more and more 'interesting'....
Most of their other ranges show the same pattern....
Rally cars were well served up until we got the numerous re-releases of the Peugeot 206 rally car, then when they tooled up a new kit it was the unloved 307 - Why no Citroen or updated Focus ?
They used to have a good sportscar range too (Jag XJR9, Mazda 787, Sauber C9 etc), and they stayed with it when sportscar racing changed direction and we got cars like the Mercedes CLK, the 911 (GT1 and GT2), The Toyota TS020 etc.... but then look at all the lost opportunities since then with Bentley, Audi, Peugeot etc...
Sorry this is a bit of a rant, but surely one or two intelligent choices per subject per year would have generated the necessary sales... and given the continuity that would allow people to collect....

Last rumor I've heard from Hiroboy was in 2009 that Aoshima is developing BGP001.
After that I stopped paying attention to rumors from that site. 1/10 R/C car does not
mean anything for 1/20 scale models. We discussed that already.

Re: Rumour Tamiya 1:20 Lewis Hamilton Mclaren
If it's true, I hope it's the MP/4 23
Re: Rumour Tamiya 1:20 Lewis Hamilton Mclaren
I think Tamiya would only release a "last year car" or a >10 year old car. So I'd put my money on the MP4/25. A bit too soon for the 26, right?
