WIP Tamiya Honda RA 273 1/12

Post by capri-schorsch »

Hello,

after i finished my last project i began with some new stuff.

Image

I drill holes in the body because i will put real rivets in it.

Image

First i wanted to make only every second rivet, but now i take putty and closed all between them.

Image

You can see a part from the stuff that i want to use.

This is the first part.In real im a little bit faster than this pictures here. But i show you all till the last stage.

Greetings!

Second Part:

Image
You can see that im testing different sizes of revets.
The bigger ones are 1mm and the smaller are 0,75mm rivets.
I decieded to use the 1mm rivets. The honda has bigger ones than the Ferrari i build at last.

For me that was a couple of months of sheer pain! This seems like a very promising project, I'll keep drooling at it. Which race are you portraying? I can send my reference photos if you want.

File sent via YouSendIt. I mostly have pics of the car in its '66 look. I don't know about 1967, but in '66 Watkins Glen and Mexico the car had a much wider track. So, if you want to make a really correctly proportioned '66 car using the parts in this kit, you should go for the narrower track Monza #18 car.

Hello. I'm also tackling this one at the moment. It was started last march so almost a year in now !! There's no major problems in the kit so far just in stopping myself trying to scratch build almost everything as i keep comparing the kit parts to the photos. I've put some wip pics here:
http://www.f1m.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=10699
I've done some more work since so there's some more pics to come soon.
Good luck with this one.
