Bigduke6 - Modeling Update

Post by BigDuke6 »

Post modeling disaster I've started to reassemble some of the cars. First up is the Lotus 98T. The rear wing came to pieces as did a rear wheel. I've reattached these with a little epoxy. This kit was built over a year ago and already I can see lots of ways to improve it in contrast to my newer multimedia builds.

Next up is the P34 & Prost AP03

Nice recovery! I'm glad to see you bring some of the victims back to life. :D This Lotus is a good looking car.
Cheers,

Yeah a great save on that one, too nice a build not to get it back together.

I'm going to shamelessly copy 43rdM's quality build report and roll everything up into one thread. Michael - your models are truly great & I hope to come close to those standards =)

I'd begun work on Mark Webber's 2002 Minardi but it's a little boring now that I've discovered the entire kit ) except wings and body is a cast copy of the Tamiya MP4/13! So onto the next build: I couldn't resist any more, so out comes possibly the most complex kit I've undertaken in my 1 year modeling history...

LOTS of p\e

Quite a bit of work to get all the pieces to fit under the body work:

Hi BigD, Good to see you've put that terrible disaster to one side and what a super re-build.
I hope you do'nt mind but I've attached a couple of (poor shots!) of my Lotus conversion that I did many years ago(.Gary PM me and I,ll gladly go through it with you).
Good luck with the Toleman and try this site for a build report: www.sennake.be

Nice full detail build Alex - you've done the full monty! Gary: I didn't change anything on the kit.. some speak of making a enw windscreen, moving turbo intakes, barge boards, rear cowl shape, but that's too much for me. I'm happy to have this kit on my shelf as-is.

I've begun the plumbing on the TG184 - using Detail Master fittings and some solder to create various hoses at the back of the car. Once these are all to shape I can begin engine construction. Ride height is OK and I've decided to use small pieces of solder in the place of screws for fitting the front and rear suspension:

It looks a bit crap at the moment but once other details are added it should be ok. I'd appreciate any feedback \ tips on the plumbing detailing as this is quite a large part of this kit. (exposed engine and all)
