12th. 312b WIP

Post by PanAmNut »

Afternoon Gents,

As promised.

Not a great deal to show but I've been quite busy revising this 1971 Tamiya masterpiece.

Rear upright, in-progress and mocked up.

Everything save the black-ish bit is fabricated/machined aluminum.

Likely not much in the way of updates coming until I get to final assembly ...... sorry I'm immersed.

Cheers,

"Very nice work! Are you going to narrow the kit tyres?"

Thanks !

I've not gotten to that point yet, though it's not too likely.

Do you have dimensions I should consider?

LOL! Can't remember how I got to the figure as it was a long time ago but if I recall the both the fronts and rears are around 5-6mm too wide. I probably scaled up/down front-on photographs. Don't quote me on this but I vaguely remember thinking there were too many treads lines on the tyre and by decreasing them by one or two rows to the correct amount it would equate to the correct profile! :?

May have to wip the old kit and books out!
