And now a green one !

Post by Jacques »

Ok black and gold are really nice colors especially on the famous lotus F1 cars...but I wanted to build something different.

This is my Studio27 Lotus 79b with some minor modifications especially on the wheels and the skirts. That's it, a real pleasure to build and with "Lole" driving the car.

the specialists will notice that a Martini sticker is missing on the helmet....I think the decals will come in the coming weeks, isn't it JamesB ?

I hope everyone will enjoy the pictures.

Looking good! Always a nice change to see a driver in the car, as it's not real common.

Nice job. Still prefer the good ol' JPS black & gold though.

Ah yes, simpler times simpler schemes. You have to admit those plainer schemes are just nicer than the corporate rubbish we have to put up with now, with the possible exception of the current Toyota scheme.

Very nice build Jacques - definitely up to your usual standards

I'm guessing that it's in German GP spec, as it has the late season stripes, but not the centrally mounted rear wing?

Wim - you need to login to see the pics - I couldn't see them either before I logged in!

Beautiful! This is yet another one of the builds this group produces that makes me want to improve my techniques . . . . or give it up all together!!

Emerson you're close to the right answer....This is the Zolder GP version. "Lole" was driving black anodised wheels on this race and both cars had the long Martini stripes on the side pods.

I am also modifying a Studio27 full metal kit into a late season version. there are a lot of modifications : outboard brakes, rear wing as on the Lotus 81 and different gearbox same as built on the Lotus 80... So for the moment I am fighting with the sidepods.... Still a lot to do, but the result will be quite original as there is no version of this car available yet. I hope to finish it in a couple of months.

Jonathan,

The technics I use are really the basics and I mainly build my kits just out from the box. I want to add a special touch by putting the driver in the car in a realistic position and I llok forward to do some dioramas...I am just working on one very special now....with a Brabham BT48....I won't say much

Very nice!!!
And the charm of it is exactly not being black and gold.

Just matter of days!
I'll pm or email you about further details...
Nice to see Lole in one of his multiple uniforms. A certain alone-so follows the path... ;-)
