Need advice on Tamiya 1/20 Lotus 78

Post by Brooklin1 »

Any ideas what to do with the chrome wheels? You'll probably say strip and spray aluminum. How about dull cote over top? (I haven't gotten around to try it yet)

I'm guessing the F 'tree' of parts is for the motorized version of the car, although there are really no instructions on how to do it if you had the motor.

What about lettering for the tires? white paint? White marker? Sand off and decal? other?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, for years I have been spraying Testors semi-gloss over bright chrome, it does the trick for me, stripping and re coating, can be more accurate, but I like that dull sheene, just like those nice satin tamiya alum-looking parts, oh yeah, the coat I put on is light, almost just a dusting, and I have had no yellowing or cracking problems!
