Pocher Porsche 917
Looks like the next Pocher kit will be the Porsche 917....just so a teaservideo somewhere !?
Not sure about the choice. For the regular Joe I guess it's nice but all we modeling freaks have that car in any available scale already in the stash

Re: Pocher Porsche 917
The 917k was already available from DeAgostini ( or similar company) as a Part work kit in 1/8 scale.
Makes no sense that Pocher makes the same now.

Re: Pocher Porsche 917
I thought the same about the Lotus 72. It will be the Gulf Car, guess I stick with my MFH 917
Re: Pocher Porsche 917
Pocher Laferrari or Porsche 918 or MB SLR or McLaren F1GTR would be nice to me.
I might see a big scale Laferrari, but never 918 or SLR, I could be wrong.
MFH 1/12 F1GTR has some shape and fitting issues.

Re: Pocher Porsche 917
Slightly corrected your post ... I think my MFH 917 count sits at 6?
While 1/8 is great, it needs to be of stellar quality to have me even considering getting one.
Cheers,
Roman

Re: Pocher Porsche 917
Quality looks like IXO Collection 917...
Some enhanced stills from the video.
Rear cowl hinges also wrong like on the ixo, additional rollbar introduced 1971 looks strange, ignition wire also incorrect place.
Frame fitted with screws.
Looks like model made by ixo with some improvements...

Re: Pocher Porsche 917
Slightly off topic, but does anyone have accurate schematics/plans/diagrams for the engine mounting 'cage'? The MFH castings inevitably get deformed in shipping, and I'd like to re-build mine.
(been meaning to ask this for, like, a decade! I was originally going to solder it way back when, but at this point I might print it)

Je ne regrette rien.

Here some references I work on a 3d model with some reference drawings I can make some drawing print from the engine area.MoFo wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 5:44 pm Slightly off topic, but does anyone have accurate schematics/plans/diagrams for the engine mounting 'cage'? Re: Pocher Porsche 917
If you have a photoediting software or similar around here's a bunch of 917 blueprints featuring the frame. They can also be found in the Näher book 917 Werksverzeichnis. I have never bothered to scan it, but took the pics found at the link below and from other sides, scaled the 3 views to match, corrected the stitching etc.. The pics in the links are the originals as I don't know where mine actually are. The project I mention below started shortly after the release of the first long tail 917 by MFH in 1/12 scale. So it's been a few years.MoFo wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 5:44 pm Slightly off topic, but does anyone have accurate schematics/plans/diagrams for the engine mounting 'cage'? Linkage
Since the 917 frames are virtually the same across you should be able to use those 3-view plans and come up with something that's better than the MFH frame. At some point in the past I have made a 1/12 scale drawing of the frame and built a jig to assemble the frame. But with my abysmal soldering skills I got stuck there. But yeah, the MFH frame didn't do it for me. All of mine are bent like the car did a few end over ends and then got wrapped around a tree - plus the white metal stuff is quite heavy....
Cheers,
Roman
