It's the later version. This version was used from the Germany GP onwards. Without the additional openings for the air on the sidepods.

Beemax will show up with the early version, high inlets on the sidepods.
Take a stand!

According to the announcement, it will be the Monaco GP version, so it will have the snorkel inlets, but will have the option to build with the multi-element rear wing and rain tires that was used in practice.

To be honest, I'm kind of surprised they chose that version since Senna crashed out at Portier while leading and walked home.

True...but this is the Japanese we're talking about. It's all about Senna for them, like Prost almost doesn't exist in their eyes.

Beemax, Meng, and Nunu are based in Hong Kong, Macau and China not Japan. Of the companies normally part of their group efforts only Aoshima is Japanese.

When I check my references the Meng kit is a Fantasy Set up. The rear Spoiler cannot be compared to any that was used in racing. I haven't found a setup where a similar rear spoiler was used with the radiator outlets completely open. The type of 'flat' Windscreen is nowhere to find. I'm not sure about the Brakediscs, was there Drilled ones used in 1988, or is this a recent optimization? In which races were the front spoiler end plates modeled by Meng used?

For me the configuration from the Hungarian GP looks closest to the kit.

Don't get me wrong, despite the supposed inconsistencies, when assembled it will be a beautiful replica. Hardly any observer will notice the deviation. Most people have difficulty recognizing which F1 car is being shown. The most important thing is that building a model is fun
