Oh yes indeed James, here is a reminder of that last lap as we are sharing footage, 91 Hockenheim.. just look at the hopping rear tyre marks left on the track, also my compatriot Eddie Laycock must have gotten the fright of his life.. I like this clip also as we can hear the late Great Mr. Sheene.

Those of us who watched Wayne, and Kevin’s epic battles in the US Superbike championship, especially in 1987, knew how hard those two raced each other. Hard but totally clean & fair. Huge mutual admiration & respect between them that continues to this day.

The upright riding style back then seems so odd now after watching today's pilots throw the current GP bikes around the track!!
