Tyrrell 020
Hello! Finished this one up the other day. Tamiya called for TS42 light gun metal in the instructions. At first, I painted the car with Tamiyas LP light gun metal and I liked the shade but it had this odd reddish hue to it that bothered me and I wound up using the 42. Interestingly, I did a spoon test with TS light gun metal and gun metal and to my eye, the actual color looked identical, one had more of the metal flakes in it.....I dunno, maybe the cans were too empty. Anyway, this is the result I got. It's nice when an engine cover actually fits without having to be glued down. I played around with the exhaust by getting some weathering pigments and dulling the finish with some rust and some soot ( that sort of disappeared ).

Re: Tyrrell 020
The Tyrrell 020 looks very beautiful. It has quite a unique color scheme.
You prove that beautiful models don't always need a lot of add-ons.
Thanks for sharing.

Welldone ! I used Tamiya's Acrylic Gunmetal Paint on my 020. In some Photos It looks almost black.

Re: Tyrrell 020
Did it have a red hue to it? I thought the color of the LP light gun metal was perfect but the red thing bothered me. It was as if I had run some red through my airbrush then immediately tried the lite gun metal without cleaning the airbrush first. Odd. By the by: no, I hadn't run any red. The last color to go through was actually white.
