Re: Mercedes W08 in 1/12
Yes, the width of the car is 2000mm excluding the tyres. However, the wheel rims are still included. In 2018, FIA includes diagram showing the measurements. There is no change for the car width between 2017 and 2018.
So if the rim to rim width maximum is 2000mm, the overall width of the car including tyres should be around 2060 mm, assuming 30 mm of tyre over the rim. This still only translate to around 172 mm in 1/12 scale.
184.4 mm in 1/12 scale translate to 2212.8 mm wide, which is way over the allowed dimension.

Re: Mercedes W08 in 1/12
Short update: there will be some delays in the build due the price model change on shapeways.
The already designed 3d parts like body and floor has now more than double price after the price update....
A Anycubic Photon printer is already on the way, so that i can try to print the small parts by myself and only floor and body must be printed from a supplier.

Re: Mercedes W08 in 1/12
Would it be possible to split even the floor into smaller parts to reduce cost? A small seam would be nothing a bit of filler and sand paper couldn't fix!

Re: Mercedes W08 in 1/12
Some good news:
Monocoque (need some small fixes for thin walls) and Cowl can be printed in Frosted Ultra Detail (now Fine Detail Plastic) for a resonable price on shapeways:
The Floor needs to be splited - separate Diffusor - because of the print size.
This brings a good quality of the parts...
Now back to the final adjustments for the 935K3-Body...

Ok, shapeways price changes are relly a mess.
Upload the monocoque on 09. Nov. - get the price of 68€,
Today the price has been changed to 178€ - without giving me the details about.

Re: Mercedes W08 in 1/12
Hopefully prices will settle down after some messy period. But I am afraid all of the parts are going to be more expensive after that
