Lotus 79 -> Tyrrell 009 conversion
Hi,
Thinking about the above conversion, I was looking for pics of the rear of the 009.
On most I find that the Tyrrell had outboard rearbrakes but I think that on the initial release of the 009 it had inner rearbrakes as the 79.
Does anybody have some pics to confirm this?
I also have a cut away drawing of the 009 with, I think, inner rearbrakes, but the quality is low.
So might any body also have this drawing in higher resolution?

I was about to tell you "gearbox stuck brakes, I've seen a pic". But lately my memory is less reliable, so if anyway I gotta look for the pic...
all of them from Spanish edition of L'Année Automobile!
Except the last one, the dark which is from Flocon's book.
Nevertheless, I was right
I'd say that what can betray the use of brakes in the wheels is the absence of intakes at the back of engine cover...

Yes thanks a lot for these pics, those where exactly what I was looking for.JamesB wrote:I was about to tell you "gearbox stuck brakes, I've seen a pic". But lately my memory is less reliable, so if anyway I gotta look for the pic...

I also thought about that but was not 100% convinced about it, becuase the later had outboard brakes and at some early cars I thought I sometimes saw outboard brakeducts, so I asked and now I know for sure.JamesB wrote:I'd say that what can betray the use of brakes in the wheels is the absence of intakes at the back of engine cover...

Hi Roly,
I did not know that. I never took a picture of the display (or looked), that shows witch car it is. But i tought it looks very similar. Just my opinion.

Lesley
