Re: 2009 Group Build: Shadow DN5
Hi all,
I had some progress on the Shadow during the last few weeks.
At first there was a problem to fix the sidepods as I wanted to wait with the radiators for the final assembly.
As you can see on this picture the sidepod should be made with two pieces of metal glued together. To prevent them from breaking once they are fixed I used brass once again to give them more stability:
Of course a few gaps remained that had to be filled with putty:
Before I gave the car the color it should get, I finished the windscreen and made a dry fit:
Finally I could make the step I was looking forward for the whole time while watching this white chassis!
And now, a few days later the decals are placed!
Now it is time to worry about the engine, the gearbox and the rearsuspension. I want to build those parts using some technics I have read about here at F1M and I am curious how they will work.
Thank you for watching!

Re: 2009 Group Build: Shadow DN5
Hi all,
it has been now nearly 2 month since my last update, but during this time I made some progress despite being on vacation for two weeks.
At first there is the engine which is almost complete now except a few suspension part which I will add as soon as the engine is fixed to the chassis:
The front suspension parts are now ready for the final assembly as well. On this pic you only see the parts for the left side. The right side parts were not ready when this pic was taken:
Now we come to the interesting parts. The molded seatbelts on the seat were removed and replaced with MFH seatbelts:
The mirrors were fixed to the windscreen with two rivets on each side:
And the windscreen was afterwards fixed on the chassis:
I still have to cut the rivets on the inside of the cockpit, but I am a bit worried how I can do it without damaging the color on the inside...
I suppose that I can present you the finished car with the next update. There is not that much left to be done...
