1/20 1977 and 1978 Lotus 78 finished
After messing with the paint job redoing it several times they look like crap.
But now I learned that I should use Tamiya spray paint if possible for glossy cars.

Mario's car caught fire during practice so he had to use Gunnar Nilsson's car in the race.
This is the car from the practice. The race car had the #6 altered to a 5 and the roll bar was higher.

I tried to replicate this car in model.
I had to make some changes to the kit using a Studio 27 conversion set.

Paint issues or not they're still both good looking models Björn. Well done.
I'm curious about what brand of paint you had problems with. I quickly checked your WIP threads again but could not find anything. My apologies if I missed it.
Cheers,
T

Sorry about that.
I tried Humbrol enamels and then Tamiya acrylics. I never had any luck with the gloss acrylics for some reason. The matt paints work OK.

Enjoyed following your WIPs. Despite the troubles they look good in the pictures, the photo quality is very nice by the way. The helmets and gloves really set the cars off. Nice work!

Hi Björn,
Your two Lotus 78 looks fine in photo.
Just wondering what problem did you have with both Humbrol and Tamiya paint?
