1988 F-1 Seat Belt Help Needed

Post by Fallscity48 »

New Guy from Nashville.....Long time F-1 fan stuck in Nascar county.
My 1st GP I attended was the 1988 USGP at Detriot. :D
I'm wanting to build one car from all the contructors from the race & I have good references of the cars from the race....except of the cockpit areas.
Need help with the colours & brand of seatbelt used for the following cars I have found kits for so far:

Rial
Dallara
EuroBuan
Osella
Larourse Lola

Any Cockpit photos also most appreciated.......Thanks !!

RE: Seat Belt Help Needed

Hi and welcome!

Sounds like a great project. My first live GP was Adelaide in 88, so those cars are all etched in my memory too!

I'll have a look round at home and see if I can help with any of the seat belts.

cheers,
michael

Thanks Michael,
It was a great period ...Turbo & Free Breathers, Senna, Prost, Piquet, Mansell plus a full field & pre-qualifying. I love the low budget teams...Tyrrell, AGS, Rial, Osella, Minardi, Dallara. Got a few of my own photos from the race if any one is interested :D
Going thru a little F-1 withdrawl this year since Indy GP off the schedule. :(

I have a very hard to scan book, so I will tell you that the Dallara had red belts with NO markings and the Rial had red Sabelts w/black buckles. Hope that helps a little.
