I watched the F2001 Build video that was posted here a couple of months ago, and I saw the guy do this with the suspension arms. I hate CFing suspension arms, and I have tried different ways of replicating the CF look. I went to my Local Hobby shop today and I picked up a sheet of Brass Micro Mesh.
Here is what I did:
I sprayed my suspension pieces with TS-29 and I let them sit for two weeks(Not that this made any difference).
I placed the screen over the suspension pieces.
I turned the air pressure down on my air brush.
I shot MM Titanium through the mesh very lightly.
Here is a picture of the Mesh package, and one of the suspension pieces.
I tried a new technique today

Heeey it seems you got it right, F*B!!!
You're beginning to follow the Kamimura path!
It is much better than the decals, IMHO...

While this works with mesh patterns..suspension arms usually don't have mesh patterns.
The "weave" also looks too big to me, although it's well done. It would look great on the side pods.

What I do like of this, regrdless the scale, pattern or so, is the visual effect: I deeply like the point that the "strokes" are not clearly visible, you don't see the edges. pals think that on real cf we see the fibers that reflect the light differently so you get patterned "flashes" of the thing. That's why I like this technique.

Looks very good to me - also seen guys using stocking (those female things, yes...) to do this. It has the added bonus of being more flexible. But I don't know whether it is black on grey or grey on black then. Something I want to experiment with soon.

Thanks for the comments;
I have tried the stocking route before, but the problem with it, is that the pattern changes when the stockings are stretched, or go around corners. I will have to experiment with different etched patterns.

Got It!!!
I ordered a Studio 27 Mesh A piece from Strada Sports. I re-shot the suspension arms with TS-29. I then sprayed MM Titanium Metalizer lightly through the mesh. I got a little heavy on one of them, so I went back and dusted X-1 through the mesh, and that took care of it.
Have a look
