F2007 ST27 DONE

Post by Manu »

Hi again Guys. I 'm enjoying my week of vacation here by finshing a lot of kits, so here's now the F2007 from ST27 .
The F2007 is a quite easy kit to do, just a problem on the rear wing, if you follow the instructions, the rear wing will hit the suspensions parts and it seems ST27 has noticed it coz on the picture after it's assembled differently ! anyways just a cut and sand here and there and it's ok. I've added the barcode decal, not the tobacco, I 've got used of seeing it like this anyways. So yes the car is the pre monaco version, but doing it in "just red" kinda bored ma so i decided to do the "candy red" version.A bit innacurate maybe but more original.
So a layer of TS30 silver leaf and then 3 or 4 layers of clear red from tamiya. The match looks quite ok for me but is a bit tough to catch on picture ;)
I 've also added the white stripe of the tires, a bit of white paint in the line , wash away the excedent and your done. Some few SMS rivets and a bit of renaissance carbon also and here . And here are the pics :

I'll be back at the end of the week with a hobby base custom Prost AP01 and the AMC minardi PS05. Then the Forti FG01.

Hope you'll like it !

And another one finished, where do you keep them all :D Great job as always, I like the paint method you used (clear red over silver)

Awesome Manu
I too like how you painted it and a nice touch with the white line on the tires to indicate the soft compound.

Dave

PERFECT!!!!! impressive!!!
One tech question: clear red was acrylic, airbrushed?
Then, did you have problems with the evenness of finish? I mean, was it difficult to avoid coat being thicker on some places?

it was sprayed from the cn. I tend to use only spray cans and brush for details.
No problem if you dn"t insist on some area, but if a little color difference appeared, just a light coat on it made it disappear.
The prost is finished, I've worked til 2 o clock !!!
pics soon.
thanks guys !

Thanks Manu! Didn't know the clear red was also available in can format. BTW, I recently discovered the world of decanting can paints!! More on it some day ;-) BTW, Manu, can you tell me the exact heigth of nose tip respect to the ground? THX!

i'd say 8mm/1cm. I had to put it a bit high because of the winglets that goes to the car nose.
Otherwise you know I'd have lowered it ;)
