Kitbox Detail Set Porsche 935
Kitbox Detail Set Porsche 935
As I still have a Tamiya Porsche 935 to build, I am looking for a detail set for this one. Does anyone has experience with the Kitbox Detail set and is it worth the money?

Re: Kitbox Detail Set Porsche 935
I built the Scale Motorsport Super detail up set for the Tamiya Porsche 935 years ago. For me it was the holy grail of detail kits. The brake discs, dampers and rims alone are a work of art in themselves. The remaining aluminum turned and milled parts are of high quality and equivalent to Robert Bentley alias RBM. It's worth every cent for me, which is why I got a second set of the first edition. A few years ago scalelab-24 also released a set for the 934 and 935. It is cheaper, but lacks the turned rims and other parts. They are attached in 3D technology. Scalelab-24 released a turned set of rims a few months later. The sales price of both Scalelab-24 sets would have to be calculated against the SMS kit. The instructions for the SMS kit are much more extensive and detailed. On the other hand, the scalelab-24 instructions are weak, many parts are not listed. In any case, everyone has to decide for themselves what the right set is for them. I hope others will chime in and give their opinions.

Do you have a lik to the Kitbox-Set ? Btw. I have the SMS Superdetailkit for the 935 for sale
Re: Kitbox Detail Set Porsche 935
Yes,
the set contains 9 PE sheets and various Resin parts ( e.g. Rims). For sure not comparable with the SMS set, which far too expensive for me.
From the pictures it looks worth the money (app. 70 Euro) so I may give it a try.

Works perfect...looks interesting but I'm not a huge fan of too much PE in large scale. But for 70 I would say it's worth a try. Please keep us updated. What do you think of the Scalelab24 set ? ...you can see it a spotmodel for example.

Not sure about the other set, but SMS is the best you can get. I have built two of them and it is a long time commitment to do it right. I still have multiples of both the tamiya and SMS kit. They create an absolute masterpiece when you take the time.
