Hi, anyone encountered lately with Thunder Valley? I tried to contact via their website couple of times, nobody replies, nor the emails are getting responded. I had ordered and paid some 1/12 rims a while ago, deliveries postponed couple of times and silence since last contact.
Their website was down just recently but up again now, so was thinking the must be somehow in still.
Thanks for any info!
Dalin

Hi Dalin,
i mailed over the last couple of months from time to time with Paul.
He told me he is moving to a new town but still not known where he is finally get a house thats cheap enough for him and his son.
He is in the middle of a divorce and told me he had some hard times.
I have no relating ships with him.He only wants to order something from me.We talked about modeling and stuff. But i do know his kind of business and the problems he had in the past and until today.

So right now he is not able to produce something from my sight of view.

Sorry but thats all i can say right now.

regards Christian

He still owes me for some FW14B wheels I ordered some time back. I tried communicating with him about that for several years but I don't think I'll ever see those. I don't think I'll ever buy from him again. I wish him the best!

Thanks to everyone for detailed answers.
I had ordered and paid 3 sets of MP4/6 rims already back in 2019, at the time of purchasing "rims ready for shipping in 3 weeks". Covid then, last info I got from him was in May 202, "closer to being able to ship your McLaren MP4/6 rims".
Since then, nobody replies to my regular emails.
Based on what you guys say, I must either be patient or get satisfied with the fact I lost my money, hopefully for some good purposes.

Hi

Was it really ever in business? 🙄 That guy must have invented the XL book of bad excuses. I guess he must have used the all by now? 🤣

Consider the money lost. If the items ever appear consider yourself lucky!

Try googling around and find something like this:

https://www.automotiveforums.com/t10630 ... ey_f1.html - and this is 2011...

Be prepared for some Kleenex moments when Paul Raterink (Owner of TVM) tries to explain why he was seen on another site with an expensive Ducati...

Still waiting for an order to be completed from January 2006....
1/12 MP4/6 dampers and driveshafts and a carbon model knife.
I mail him most anniversaries politely enquiring about the order and wishing him a Happy New Year, I got the same XL book of excuses.
Eventually he stopped responding.
I have now given up, hence this post.
Luckily I stopped ordering as soon a problems surfaced.
Wonder how long before this thread is locked.......

Malc.

The guy is a scammer. He cheated me out of two model kits from eBay back in the day.
There should be a warning about him on this and other sites.

I thought there was some prohibition here about criticising Thunder Valley, but since it's not being enforced at the moment, I'll give my experience....

And I admit I had read and yet ignored all the warnings I had read about him but 3 - 4 years ago, I desperately wanted his FW-14b set. And so I contacted him and yes, 'everything's in stock sir' and so I sent him my (apx) £300 and then excuse after excuse after excuse (and often he didn't even both to reply let alone give an excuse). I passed the deadline for making a paypal complaint and eventually got some of my bits (but not all of them) a year or so after my original order (and was faced with a significant import charge!). At that time he gave me an (unfulfilled) promise to send the rest of the stuff later on. To be honest, I have absolutely no expectation of getting the bits - I've given up hoping and have written it all of to 'experience'.

I'm so pleased that Top Studio came out with their upgrade bits for the Williams.

Me, I will never even think of buying from him again.
