Kit is now available with laser printed decal sheets, and professionally printed waterslide decals will be available early in the new year which will include the Dutch GP variant

I’ve just ordered one, I’ll let everyone know how good the kit is once I’ve received it

OK... so let's be sensible and not expect too much here - I picked this up for £30 and it's very important to bear this in mind.

As such this is absolutely not a MFH/Studio27 resin standard kit, but the resin looks ok and is reasonably sharp and has some nice detail in places, there are some awful excess mould left overs here and there though which will not only need trimming but probably removing with a saw  . There is some nice white metal and brass tubing and the wheels/tyres are a one piece moulding. There is no photo etch which is understandable for the price but possibly the worst part of the kit is the decals look to be laser printed and are some way from being Cartograph standard - looking very 'bitmap' in places.

My initial opinion is that it is a really good base for creating a 63, but there will be a massive amount of work to get it anywhere near a comparable standard.

Having said all that all in all I'm very happy to have the option to be able to build another F1 Lotus not released before... even if the late Graham Hill described it as 'a complete death trap'

I'll try and post some pics when I get chance.

I also purchased a kit last year and as Sean says it's a lot of work.
It's a hand-made kit and is more likely to be classified as "old school"... (please don't misunderstand this - there are better and worse kits here too).

I have also started reworking the kit and will also recreate some components.
Unfortunately I have to say I got a little taken away from other things.
I also made new decals because I couldn't work with the templates either.
There will also be new tires/wheels, maybe I'll start a WIP as I go along.
Greetings Thomas

I also bought one of them, as it is probably the only chance to get all the Gold Leaf Lotus F1 cars in 1/20th scale.
Yes, a very demanding kit. You have to put some work into it, if you want to make it a good looking car.

But there are many good reference pictures available at motorsportimages.com
https://www.motorsportimages.com/photos ... Lotus%2063

Regarding the decals, I first intended to use an aftermarket decalsheet for Ebbro's Lotus 49B, just to realise nobody ever released a whole decalsheet for this car. Except privateer versions. But most of the decals for the 72C should work as well, and gaps can probably be filled with Indycals Lotus 49B from 1968. I will try to find it out.
