Hi guys, I need some help with the finish of vac formed parts from MFH. After cutting out the parts and sanding for correct fitment, I find that the piece is no longer clear. It has like small scratches and a bit cloudy looking. Is there something that I can do or use to help fix this??
Thanks.

Re: Help with MFH vac form parts
I’ve heard airplane modelers will dip the canopies in future floor wax. It’ll fill in the micro scratches.

I haven't tried it but perhaps try some plastic polish like Novus 1? I use it on my motorcycle windscreens , it might work.

Re: Help with MFH vac form parts
Think wew all have had to deal with clear plastic or Vacume form clear parts and scratches.
Future floor wax mentioned does a OK job at hiding fine scratches and adding the appearance of real glass. Several YouTube videos about it.
Simply polishing with micromesh can give you great results. Nerve racking to see all the scratches in the early steps.
I have wanted to try the stuff Kars recommends. Looks to be a simular answer as the Future floor wax ???
Have to add dealing with "Glass" is another great reason to just build F1 cars LOL

Re: Help with MFH vac form parts
Polishing with Tamiya polish compound or toothpaste will remove the scratches. Dipping the part into Future floor wax or any clear acrylic paint will make the part more transparent and real.
There is also a preventive method. Put masking tape on both sides of the part before working on it to protect the surface from scratches. You still can file on the edges with the tapes on.
