Maserati 250F, Revival, 1/20
Hi
I finished the next one, the Maserati 250F, world champion 1957 with Fangio.
It's a Revival kit with lot's of die cast parts: chassis, suspension, engine, gearbox and the whole cowling. It's an old kit, so the casting quality was... well... ahem. Plastic parts are not much better, but can at least be sanded way more easily. Getting everything to fit is quite some work. If you have the time to model parts for your 3D printer this kit will benefit from them. But I don't want to badmouth the kit that much, it's not that you have that much choice of kits for 50s racing cars and the pre fabricated wire wheels look quite nice.
The cowling was pre painted, and I decided to keep the paint. I also didn't clearcoat it, only put the decals on. The only major thing I did was redo the wind screen from some slightly thicker plastic foil.
Hope you like it.

Looks good! I have one Revival metal Kit, The D50, That I haven't touched. Revival does make plastic versions of their kits as well If you want more cars from that era. I'm not sure of quality but you don't get the nice wire wheels.

Nice to see that kit. It is one I would like to have to build a Jo Bonnier car.

Perfect Marco! That came up well indeed. I also have the Ferrari 500 F2 buried somewhere in the cupboard. Hope it comes out as good as yours!
Cheers. Tim

Nice job Marco!
You did a good job. I also know the kit and some of the parts don't look that great, but as you can see you can create a great car out of it!
It reminds me that I have 2 of these kits and wanted to get one into the hands of someone who also wants to build such a classic.
