Not sure why that's a terrible thing? 🤷‍♂️ I'm more than happy to help fun and invest into Salvino's new indycar kit. Plus it cost over 6 figures to make the plastic injection molds. Licensing (who knows that cost) and don't forget paying your employees and random expenses like electric and water and they are in California so the taxes are enormous.
Yada, Yada, Yada. Normal?? I wouldn't say that. But yes it does happen.

Not sure why that's a terrible thing? One word,,,,, Thundervalley, least we not forget how many people got screwed over by that guy by the method of pre-orders!!!

One thing to consider regarding ordering from Salvinos is that they have a real presence in the modelling community already with an established distribution network in place. i consider the risk extremely low and glad someone is investing in the modern Indycars.

So I'm sure we'll see some first pictures or a prototype soon.
I saw the prototype (cad) today. It's looking good. They hope to have a 3d prototype in a few weeks.

I already thought of something like that and I also thought that there should also be 3D data at the current time.
Since I know that adjustments always have to be made when making injection molds, it was almost clear to me that the data might not be final yet.
But I'm happy to hear that and I'm curious to see how it turns out.

That looks pretty nice!

I went to the race in St. Louis about a week ago and the Arrows McLarens really look cool in person. Would love to build a speedway and road course version of Rossi’s car (hint for Indycals)🙂

I guess I should've quoted what Rick said.
Hi fellow, Salvinos JR Modelers just thought I’d let you see some of the work that my partner Jim is up to. We should have a full car to submit to INDYCAR in the next week or two but it’s looking great. I can’t wait to build this one. We are taking pre-orders on our website. salvinosjrmodels.com
Thanks for all your support
Rick

It was also noted on Twitter that the headrest isn't the right shape.
This was gratefully received and checked by Salvinos Models.

As it looks, the statement is also true and the current headrest is a bit more angular and has 2 lateral support humps.

The headrest shape is pretty accurate, I think that angle just distorts it. Regarding the 'humps' on the side of the headrest, those were added this year at the 500, so based on what Greenlight has made for 1/18 Indycar diecasts, the cad model didn't incorporate the latest changes.

That being said, I have full expectation that it will be correct. If not, I'm sure Grand Precision will be making 3d parts to correct it just like for the 1/18 diecasts ;)
