Top Studio is already involved with the Beemax kit.

It would not be difficult to use the raised section for the fluorescent red to make a masking template by covering it with Tamiya tape then drawing out the edge.... It could even be scanned into a PDF... which might be useful thing...

Has anyone in the States gotten a shipping charge to share? Being oversized, it won't be cheap but how uncheap?

Mine was $66.92. Not cheap, but the kit price was very reasonable.

Thanks Fatfrog! Very informative.
I had hoped for more from Meng…. Some odd design ideas, and overall a bit clunky. Shame.
Bring on the beemax.?

Whether, the kit is clunky or odd it is a start. A welcome addition. For me, who saw Senna win 2 times in this car I welcome it!

$75 for kit, Komakai book, and a decal sheet.   I know it is not the retailer's "fault" - but I almost backed out of the order. Just like Mac said in his closure announcement, shipping is really taking the fun out of things these days.

I'm honestly not sure how fair it is to criticize design elements of the kit that are business decisions over making things completely authentic. There is no point, for Meng or their distributors, in making a paper-thin rear diffuser that won't survive trans-Atlantic shipping for example. Also, Fat Frog complaining about things like the intake not having a solid bottom is a bit silly. Were Meng supposed to make it a solid plug of plastic? To what purpose? Some of his comments reveal that he doesn't understand the business side of kit making at all. Interesting review and I appreciate him doing it but perhaps he should "stay in his lane" a bit more.
