I do recall seeing footage of depailler in a wet Canada in 1978 onboard but might have been limited in speed and just for a 'demo'

There are a lot of Videos of Depailler in 77/78, and while not at 100% he is driving quite fast

I remember reading an article about the development of the onboard camera for the 1989 season. The teams that carried the camera all put money into its development on the understanding that they'd all carry it at certain races. It was a massive step on from the camera that Nakajima carried on his Lotus in 1987.

Looks neat. I will wait until I receive my Beemax Lotus. Kinda, interested in the early version of the MP4/4.Gorf wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 5:24 pm For those of you who don't like to paint:

I meant to mention in the last post that the red to white transition(chevron) is more round and not the triangle shape as it should be but still looks nice.
Thomas, you keep coming up with all this nice stuff but with shipping what it is these days You will have to come up with more before I place another order!

Yes, one thing that I unfortunately cannot influence... even if I always try to find the best possible conditions.

Re: Look for Meng McLaren MP4/4 in the wild
While watching videos of the Meng GT40 and the MP4/4, I asked myself whether they were built without glue?

Re: Look for Meng McLaren MP4/4 in the wild
You can definitely build the Meng GT40 without glue if you wish. I used glue on mine but only because it felt too much like a Lego car if I just pushed it all together. I also swapped out most of the Meng screws for proper threaded nuts and bolts.
