Hi all,
My latest. Its the 1/24 Tamiya kit. Basically its straight from the box, with only some holes drilled out in a few parts (steering wheel spokes, bash plate, exhaust and spare wheels).
It went together great, but just like the real thing, you need small hands and fingers
The chrome window trim, filler caps, door handles etc were done with SMS Hyperchrome pen. Having now used both, its my own opinion that its far superior than Molotow.
Anyway, hope you like it.
Dont know what I will build next, but it will be of the slicks and wings variety

I will say I am definitely no expert and still learning myself as I find myself building some more rally cars to break the monotony of the f1 cars.
Its a very simple and basic method that I use.
The military guys do a much more convincing job of it than me .
I primarily use the Tamiya Weathering Master sets which are really simple to use, and if you make a mess of it, its easily removed to start again. The little sponge and brush applicator makes it so easy. I am almost convinced its nothing more than ladies make up
A couple of random little brush strokes of Tamiya smoke and desert yellow to represent some unfortunate bugs and thats pretty much it...no air brush trickery or anything like that.
Artist oil pastels come in handy too. They can be ground in to a powder and rubbed onto the model with a stiff brush.
I am very tempted now to do an F1 car post race complete with all the grime...
