1/12th MFH 962
I finished the 962 build. Finished might not be the best description. I came close to putting it back in the box. I was very disappointed with the fit of the doors. Much worse than any of the 917's. The rear deck would not sit down correctly. I would need to remove most of the inner pieces so I decided to display it off the car. The drivers door is super glued open. Certainly not what I would expect from a $800+ model kit. I have one more MFH kit to build. Ferrari 250LM. Not looking forward to the wire wheels.
This will be my last. I have discovered the joy of 1/8th kits. Most everything fits, I do not need to paint or screw with poor quality decals. Back to the joy of model making.
Dave

Despite all the difficulties, he looks great. Great work. I imagined these MFH kits to be easier, despite many years of model building

Very nice one Dave.
Love that livery more than the Rothmans.
It's really a shame that nearly all MFH kits got that fitment problem and have to be displayed open.
Maybe they should slow down with releasing new kits and make a better quality research.
@Dave: which 1/8 scale kits do you plan to build? Monthly description kits or others?

Do 1/12 MFH F-1 kits have so many issues? Or is it mostly cars with body shells?

TY Christian, Maybe a possible side business for you could be making resin doors for MFH kits that fit. I would be a customer.capri-schorsch wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 4:50 pm It's really a shame that nearly all MFH kits got that fitment problem and have to be displayed open.

Dave, your 962 looks great, my 956 is put away same issues. I love doing MFH 1:12 cars (I have a great stash). However, I took one look at Mr. Hiro’s new project - the Border Models Avro Lancaster. That looks pretty cool.

Nice Build of the 962, sorry to hear of the fit issues, as you say you'd expect a better fit to equate with the price tag.
I love the 1/8 collection, great cars!

Re: 1/12th MFH 962
I recently finished the MFH 1/12 FW11B (My first MFH 1/12), overall the fit was pretty good and as I expected, needed a lot of test fitting before painting where possible and it was a great kit to build, certainly the most comprehensive kit I've built to date and considering the amount of parts to come together to complete it, I thought it was engineered very well, it took me quite a while to build it, these kits need respect and patients and plenty of time for test fitting and then you should end up with something nice at the end.tubegenius wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 5:01 pm Do 1/12 MFH F-1 kits have so many issues?
