Motorsports Art
Years ago while working for a racing team back east I decided to try my hand at colored pencil drawing. As a kid I always dabbled with the basic lead pencil but this time I wanted more. Working back east in the winter did not provide much in the way of activities outside of work and the gym so I took the opportunity to give it a go with the colored pencils. I finally had a chance to unearth these drawings from the nietheregens of my attic and storage space and hang them up in my home. I thought I would share them here and ask if anyone else has dabbled in motorsports art. I'd love to see what other have created.
Oh, before I forget to mention, These are all framed, mounted and behind glass and some of them have some reflections in the glass. I did my best to eliminate those but none the less there are still some reflections in some of the images.
The two Jaguar pictures have been signed by Davy Jones the driver of the car.
ENJOY!!!
Thanks for having a look!!

Re: Motorsports Art
These look great! Thanks for sharing them.
Years ago I did a pencil sketch of Senna driving his MP4/8 McLaren. I have no idea where that is now, but I thought it looked presentable at the time.
I have enjoyed the work of Dexter Brown over the years. I really enjoy his impressionist style, and have thought I might try to do something like that some day.

Impressive.
On average, how long would they take to do?
Thank you for sharing.

Re: Motorsports Art
Thanks For posting your work They all look great!.
Back in the 80's I did some airbrush paintings, I never thought they were good enough but then I was comparing them to professional illustrators, They've been stuck in a closet for many years but now that I look at them they aren't as bad as I thought. Now I only use the airbrush to paint models.
Just a few, sorry for the poor photos.

Re: Motorsports Art
Wow, impressive art, those are all great and you all have great skills. I used to draw and paint a lot with water colours until my early twenties, I think I can dig some up later today from some drawers in my home, but they are nothing compared to these!!!

Re: Motorsports Art
If only I could go back to my junior highschool days and show the drawings/doodles of F1 cars on every margin of every paper I never got around to handing in.....Icon_Modeler wrote:Thanks for all the comments!!
