Tamiya Lotus 99T
Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
I started to assemble some suspension parts, drive shafts and oil radiator. I added the brake lines and sensor wiring as well as some scratch build plumbing, actually not fixed cause more is following.
Lot more has to be done, but i can`t move on with full wiring till i scratch build some additional parts to gear box and engine. Actually creating a new fuel ignition system as the kit parts look crappy. Started with some work on the turbo`s too, have to think about additional sensors and wiring.
Her we go with the first parts taking place.
More to follow, have a nice weekend!

woww how could i've missed this thread!!!!!
I saw Allan Nielsen talking about the new 1:20 MFH kit of this car, but this is definitely at the same level of an MFH kit. Very well done!!
Cheers,
Martijn

Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
Maybe the last update for this year, target to finish it up till end of year is not possible to reach, x mas days will leave not much room for modeling.
So lets continue with some work on the injection system, scratch build some new lines with 0,5mm hex srews as joints, the kit parts have been out of scale, and some piping made from brass.
Some new parts for the gear box are made, conntecting joint is made from brass on my "lathe", wiring and plumbing needs to be attached.
Cockpit found it`s way to the tub, steering shaft and additional wiring is missing.
I was not happy with the look of the intercoolers and the plumbing connections, so i stripped everything and sanded of the molded in parts to replace them after painting, Turbo`s have been stripped too, 2 steps back to have 5 more ahead!
I started to install the electronic boxes to the chassis, wiring and the roll bar plus kill switch are done. More wiring is following once the tub is installed, moving on slow.
Thank`s for watching!

Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
Looking amazing! Is the dashboard text simulated with tiny dabs of paint? That's a really neat effect

Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
Thank you for kind commend Seb, yes correct, i did some tiny dots and that`s it. Normaly i use dashboard logo`s from Wim (Bestbalsakits), they look great but i don`t have them in 1:20 and they have been out of stock at Wim. Not realy happy with the dots, now under macro i see that it needs touch up, not visible for naked eye. I surched my Tameo left over decals, but all i found in right size have been white letters, so i moved on with the dots.
Lol, now under macro i see that the 3 lights on top of the cockpit are looking dirty too, i better had replaced them with painted knobs to get a cleaner look. Shame on me....maybe tomorrow
Edit: Sorry, they have not been out of stock, they are printed in the wrong colours!
