Another addition to the Senna collection
Started prepping this kit
Overall usual product from MFH, even though I feel less detailed
And although I have complained bitterly about the carbon fiber decals, this time they just didn’t include any for the entire monocoque which is annoying
So here is progress
More to come

Very nice start on this one Alex
Do they provide double Numbers and rear wing decals to prefend bleeding red through?

Always enjoy following your builds. Good to see you on with this McLaren. Definitely needs C/F for the chassis. Love the clash between the C/F finish and the brilliant white and Fluro red on the side of the chassis.

Was wondering how this build was coming along, looking good. I've not used zero over Tamiya primer, I use a rattle can automotive primer. Sounds like a compatibility issue, have you done anything different to normal? Your paintwork is normally faultless.

I always use Tamiya primer (the white one) with zero paints color over it and did not had any problems at all. First a few mist coats and slowly building up the color, no bleeding or other nasty difficulties.

Only time I've had issues with Tamiya primer was when I didn't use enough to cover a car. I had some issues with a Vallejo primer reacting to Splash paints recently, but that was simply bizarre as it wasn't wet or anything.

I use tamiya primer in a spray can almost exclusively. Its just very easy to use with no mess. Only issue is that the white one is quite translucent, so if theres patches of other colours on the body (e.g. grey from using putty), then i would normally spray the grey primer first, before white. If the finished car is dark coloured, i just spray grey only. Also agree that you have to spray in mist coats, focusing on the body edges as well.
And yes ive used zero paints over tamiya primer with no problems whatsoever.

Progressing with this one, on to detail painting and decaling
Will continue testing the Zero paints until I get it right
Started using sprays from hardware store to get different metallic shades, like them a lot
