I'm actually with Allan and his MP4/7 guess now. The first picture could be the top of the gearbox with the two damper mounting points.
I haven't been able to confirm this though because pictures of that car and specific area are scarce and the Tamiya kit is too crude to compare.
If it really is the MP4/7 Hiro should make their reference pictures available as well.

Ok, that could be hard since Can Am did not go to '92!!allnie wrote:OK - explain 1983-1992 to us when talking 917/10.jaydar wrote:I must admit the fuel injector/intake funnel had me concerned but I think the structure in the middle is the fan nut. That is the view with my 917/10 glasses on!!!
But I do not see that fan shroud-like thing as the top of a gear box!!

I am not sure. But I guess the MP 4/7 could be available at the Honda museum in Japan. If that is the case Hiro could get access to all the data they need.

Perhaps that is the round oil thingy on top of the gearbox seen from behind, but only partially?jaydar wrote:Ok, that could be hard since Can Am did not go to '92!!allnie wrote:OK - explain 1983-1992 to us when talking 917/10.jaydar wrote:I must admit the fuel injector/intake funnel had me concerned but I think the structure in the middle is the fan nut. The round thing on top a gear box could be a wheel....juste superposed image to lead us in the wrong direction ....

MFH publishes a new MP4/7 book. What a coincidence...
