Wrong exhaust pipes for the 312 Boxer flat-12 engines. The pipes in the MFH image would never clear the ground.SBEST wrote:Ferrari 312T2 - 1976 Version

yes that`s what they announced, but i think as long as no one else catches up a license for 1:12 scale, they are allowed to move on. The one thing no one knows, how long are they allowed to move on with Ferrari kits, when will get another producer the license to do Ferrari 1:12 models cause i think from this day, no MFH 1:12 Ferrari will show up anymore. This can be soon, or even in months...
Take a stand!

I will be the first to admit my eyes are not that good, but those pipes look to be "sistered" (I am not sure of the term) when two cylinders dump into one pipe by way of a "Y". I think that is the key to the engine identification. It appears to be 6 cylinders in this photo so it either a straight 6 or a 12. I apologize for stating the obvious. I don't think it is a 6 because that vintage engine would not have a transmission as pictured.flashman wrote:Wrong exhaust pipes for the 312 Boxer flat-12 engines. No not sisters, This is common amongst more modern engines as Jaykay has pointed out. The ports are not from different cylinders rather the cylinder has two exhaust vales and two exhaust ports feeding a single exhaust pipe. I don't think this is anything that has been mentioned yet in this thread except that it could be a 2000's era Ferrari also as Jaykay has suggested. I think we need to start considering more modern cars from say the 90's onward. I think even some of the 90's era Honda engines has this type of exhaust porting but I'm purely speculating as Allen has suggested.jaydar wrote:I will be the first to admit my eyes are not that good, but those pipes look to be "sistered" (I am not sure of the term) when two cylinders dump into one pipe by way of a "Y". Re: another MFH 1/12th...?
I think the first picture is upside down, the cylinder is definitely a starter motor, it has the "bungs" on the outside. That rules F1 out to me... There is what appears to be frame with lightening holes on the right of the image so it isn't modern either in my opinion. The gearbox also looks to be an inline type and not a transaxle so I'm thinking its something Front engined and rear wheel drive, the frame being the rear gearbox support prior to the prop shaft??? I have no idea on this one, completely stumped!!!
