Daves's 1/12th MFH 917/30
Re: Daves's 1/12th MFH 917/30
Great work so far Dave!!
What does the issue seem to be with the rear cowling? Is there a specific point of interference between the frame and body, or something on the engine/fan itself?
Cheers,
AJ

I’ve seen a car with silver side pods on the inside but no blue anodized color
Then I see grey with the blue????
One car for sure has a square box reservoir, not oval as in the kit
Google search 917/30 engine - images

I decided on polished aluminum, because it looked nice. Not necessarily accurate.

It appears that the injector logs and the linkage are hitting. I may be able to grind some resin off the inside to give it clearance.AJP01 wrote:Great work so far Dave!!

I may have not placed the injectors down as far as they could go into the heads. Too late to fix it now.

Re: Daves's 1/12th MFH 917/30
Got in some work on the 917/30 today. Now on to the body which will take some time with two colors and the masking and drying in between. The wheels were fun to build. I painted all of the wheel cooling louvers on the PE sprue. Then cut and bent them. They fit very well onto the wheel rim. I am using Zero Paints and I think that the color match is very good.
Really enjoying this build.
Dave
