Hello everybody, i've got a question: do you think it 's easier to convert Lotus 97T Fujimi or 99T Tamiya to realize the Lotus 98t or maybe i have to use both of the kits ??
Thanks for the answers !!
Lotus 98t
Re: Lotus 98t
That should be the Fujimi kit. Especially if you want to show the engine.
It may make sense to use parts from the Tamiya 99T but i haven't checked that.
Off the top of my head you need to change the front wing, the monocoque height, the cowling and the rear wing.
The wheels are a question of which version you want to depict. Either the Fujimi wheels will do, or you have to change to the 99T rims.
There are of course more details.
The Haynes manual is a good start for reference if you want to do it accurately.

Re: Lotus 98t
Get both kits, as it is very much a in between version anyway, many parts of the 97 and the 99 should/could be used in my opinion. But if you want to use 1 car I'd say the 97 is best to start with, has the almost correct engine.

Re: Lotus 98t
Hello
I did my conversion based on a 99T but there was no 97T at the time.
If it was today, I'd use the 97T. The modification on the 99 are huge. You have to cut all the cowling base 2 mm to make the the 99T look sleeker and cut and re-shape the rear lateral part
My 2 cents are: go with 97T
Best wishes and looking forward for a WIP

Yes, apart from engine wheels and livery, it's basicaly easier to "bulkier-ize" the 97 than to "slimmer-ize" the 99.
