I also work on the Decals:
The decals or painting on the sidepods, wings and the black-fading on the cowl will be hard to reproduce.

Definitely interested in following your build. I did some of my own 3D print but for small parts and while PLA doesn't yield good quality prints in smaller scale, the parts are still usable with some manual finishing. For your kit scale, the prints should be good enough.

Exactly my thoughts. I am a Ferrari man. As no manufacturer produced the F14T and the F15-T, i was also wondering about getting these cars printed.Bozothenutter wrote:There lots of people creating 3d models for racing games, some quite detailed.
I enquired about the possibility of 3D printing them.....most of them hadn't even thought of it......we live in interesting times.

An F15T and also an F14T is possible - but this will be lot of work to make them 3D-printable.
3D-Models for Games are not ready for 3D-Printing. Most of the parts are not solid, witch causes lots of work to make them solid and printable.

Re: Mercedes AMG W05 in Scale 1/12
First Version is nearly ready for printing:
Round 9: GP Great Britain
Some small adjustments in progress: smoothing the Frontwing, rework the nose around the frontwing area.
The print - roundabout 80 Parts - is planned to realize by the same supplier, where i have printed the prototype. The parts will be made with ABS, this can be smoothed with acetone vapor. This gives a surface like injection molded plastic - hopefully...
When this way is sucessful, tthen the copies for selling will be made with the same procedure, because this is easier as resin copies.

Polygon-Party...
One half ot the main front wing has now over 31.000 Polygons - this gives a smooth surface after the print.

That's it? Wuss! Each of these seats had 1.6 million, and they're smaller than a 1/20 F1 wheel rim. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDU4WDYwMA==/ ... y/$_35.JPG
Drawings are looking awesome, though.
Je ne regrette rien.

This look fantastic. Really increadible what can be done now. If you make the Ferrari F14T and F15T, count me in for one of each.
Look forward to seeing the finished result.
