Turbo Era GB WIP: Tamiya 1/12th Renault RE-20

OK here we go – I’m joining in with the classic Tamiya RE-20 from 1980. This is the late ‘80s release of this classic kit and I’ll be building out of the box except for adding the later Tamiya p/e and modern decals. I can’t believe this has been in my stash for 25 years!
Got to the end of the initial monocoque build, this is a lovely kit but is proving a little challenging to assemble correctly. This, of course, is all part of the fun!

Looks great, you don't see too many of these being built. Going to enjoy your wip.
It's interesting that Tamiya managed to get the seat so accurate on the RE20 but the RE30b is no where near, maybe down to the difference in scales.

The engine is now on the rear of the monocoque bulkhead. This needed about three hands but I got there in the end.
As usual for Tamiya kits of this period the exhaust headers were a nightmare…
