Melbourne GP 2015 - Pics from pitlane
**Spoiler alert - now contains post-race photos. If you don't want to know any results yet, please view this thread later**
hello friends, here is the usual, enjoy the race!
Mercedes
oops...
... "hope the boss didn't see that"
The "nose camera" appendages which are usually attached to the nose are now suspended like rearview mirrors
another angle...
Red Bull
Williams
Ferrari
Ferrari's pitstop traffic light thing
Alfa Romeo logo on Ferrari bodywork. Hard to tell from the photos, but the Ferrari red is fluoro again.
"What - it's one of those pitlane walks and there are thousands of people behind me?"
"oh I better wave then"
McLaren
To begin with, nothing to see at McLaren...
The Master, Giorgio Piola, with a McLaren team member
Ron Dennis - much to worry about
Unwanted attention: Magnussen's car after his accident in FP2
Intricate front wheel design
Note serrated leading edge on the upper rearwing element
The trailing edge on the lower rearwing element is also serrated
Force India
Toro Rosso
New talent - Carlos Sainz jr
Lotus
A nice message from Lotus
Sauber
No sign of Giedo...
Manor
The car literally being put together, had not turned a wheel in the off-season...
Who's paying the bills?
Vettel's Ferrari awaits scrutineering after Qualifying
Open fuel flap on Raikkonen’s Ferrari
Nico arrives at the back of the grid; he'll switch off the engine and his mechanics will then push him to his front-row grid slot.
Lewis awaits a push
Kimi
A new low for McLaren: Jenson Button at the very back of the grid. At least he got there...
...Poor Kevin Magnussen didn't even make it to the grid, pulling off the track on the formation lap with mechanical failure, in exactly the same spot after his accident in FP2. This time the car was intact and parked at a different angle, allowing some further details to be seen.
Dani Kvyat on track
Nico chasing hard
Immediately after the race,a towtruck picks up Kimi's stranded Ferrari. A great chance for a closer look…
Over the years, the plank has been a wood colour or black; currently it is wood colour
knife-edge detail
Even the mirror mounts are designed to direct the airflow
Most rearwing endplates feature vertical slots, but Ferrari's has both vertical and horizontal slots.
Vettel's Ferrari outside the scrutineering area after the race
Arnie's interview with the drivers was judged by some observers to be more entertaining than the race itself!
After the race the cars are in Parc Ferme conditions, allowing closer scrutiny especially of the Mercedes W06.
Mercedes 1-2
The camera appendages are suspended like rearview mirrors rather than attached directly to the side of the nose as previously. Nico's on-board camera is a rear-facing one
here, the camera has been removed from its mount
A surprising detail: Nico's windscreen is shark-tooth shaped, whereas Lewis had a conventional windscreen
Rear-wing DRS mechanism
Heat-stained exhaust
little red FIA “void if removed” stickers are all over the car
The rear bodywork features a curved, "?"-shaped piece on the side, which attaches to the floor
Modelkit-builder's nightmare...
The end-plate looks simple in comparison
The vane area under the car is sophisticated
Even the sensor pod has been given wings so as to add aerodynamic effect
This photo, taken in the pits a few days prior, reveals more of the wing shape
Knife-edge detail
2015 could be a tough year for Red Bull. The photos don't show it but the Bull logo is fluoro orange.
Sauber's new colours actually looked good in person, I expected not to like it
Enjoy the rest of the season!

Jeff, these are absolutely fantastic pics as always.
Thankyou for sharing with us.
I don't suppose you would happen to have any RB6 like these, from back in the day?
Regards, Dan
