Chassis Stand Project
I recently finished my Ferrari Sharknose and elected to keep the wheels detached. It didn't look right just sitting on the ground so I decided to design some folding chassis stands similar to some I saw on the internet. First I drew an outline of the stands on a piece of postcard. Then I cut all my pieces and soldered everything together. The biggest challenge was to keep the solder from gooing up my hinges but without rosin flux solder won't stick.
Next I filed and sanded my amateur soldering job, added some jewelry chain and some construction paper for padding.
And done! Sort of surprised me that they came out so similar. Just lucky I guess.
It was a fun project and only took a couple of hours to do. Now Sharky doesn't have to sit in the dirt.

Nice! I have struggled with stands before, might have to steal your pin-jig idea, great!

It's an old MFH Ferrari 156 kit, K032. I discussed the build recently in the "Completed" section.zeekodadi wrote:nice work what kit is that?
