Re: austin pit walkabout
Nice pics 'n commentary Tim. The teams just began practice this morning and I still can't believe this is happening here in Austin. BBC reports turn 1 is very challenging to find a line because the apex is impossible to see until the last moment. They used the word "historic".

Thank you for posting the pics Tim!
I'm curious, what does the steering wheel feel like? Is is truly featherweight with all that carbon?
Enjoy the weekend!

The circuit certainly looks very interesting to drive. Nice challenge. Very low grip tho. Congratulations to Austin on a lovely circuit and I hope any forum members attending the race have a great time.

Re: austin pit walkabout
The pit walk pictures are great, thanks for sharing with us. I'm quite jealous, and wish I could go to the race. Next year .
Having watched the practices and qualifying for the USGP, I have to say that I am suitably impressed by the track. After having lived through the grim years of that dud of a track that was Indy, I am very pleased to see the track designers made effort to instill some character and complexity to the design and lay-out. I do really like that run up hill to the first turn, and the subsequent down hill run through the esses. I'm looking forward to the race.
Cheers,
Chris

Hey, thanks for the great pics!
Question though - I see the tyres seem to be marked as Pirelli Cinturato. Do Pirelli not market the P Zero in the US? Or is it the same tyre, just by another name.
cheers
Rick

Re: austin pit walkabout
IIRC the slicks are marked P Zero but the wets ( and inters) are marked as Cinturatos, it's done to keep us modellers on our toes I tell you.
Happy modelling
