Dallara Indycar
I am feeling a bit guilty about this, but have to say the new Indycar chasis looks quite cool, esp. when compared with the latest offerings from Bernie. Forgive me for this heresy

Re: Dallara Indycar
WIth 2 body kits(speedway and road) and 3 engines it might be a kit opportunity(don't laugh!) for someone? But next year the body kits open up!! I wouldn't hold our collective breaths!!!
Re: Dallara Indycar
Obviously no hint of heresy IMHO, that's not the point! Above even F1 itself, we talk models here, so an AFV, an X wing or the Titanic can be always welcome.
And closer to the F1 thing, I also see feasible to mention Indycar.
What I disagree is the fact that this thing is nice. OK, if we use the powerful weapon of comparing with the "stairway to ugliness", tne almost everything can be nice.
I more or less like these ones you show, and I got used to the last 5/10 years Indycars, but there are features I cannot live with. One is the ¿¿fenders??? behind the wheels, other is the general look too close to this:
Sorry, but way, way, too, too, too spaceship and too rocket like to me!
Regards, THX for sharing!!

Muttley !!! Do Something !!!
All that Lotus needs is the hideous stepped nosecose to make it the ugliest car I've ever seen...
Cheers, Paul
utterly sick and tired of all the rain we're getting...

Re: Dallara Indycar
I like the new indy car better than what they have had. Really need to see the new car in a race.
Now that they are getting more than one engine available I might actually start watching them again.

Re: Dallara Indycar
I like the IndyCar too. Looks like it should be safer since its covering up the wheels more.
Re: Dallara Indycar
I don't like the shape of the car. Looks like a Eurobrun ER189 adapted for the Interseries. By the way, I wouldn't be shocked if the designer at Dallara is the same who did the Eurobrun or the 1991 Lambo. James' interpretation of the general look is simply perfect. Too much volume at the rear, and it's not J-Lo, if you know what I mean...
But for sure I'm curious about this season, specially to see how Rubens will cope with the ovals. It will be fun, I hope!

Re: Dallara Indycar
2012 will be the first year in decades that I won't see F-Indy races, these cars looks like amateur indoor go-karts. Monoposts must have more exposed wheels/tires.
Re: Dallara Indycar
Reminds me of a review of Windows 95 when it first came out.
Sucks less.
The previous Indycars were terrible. I only got a cheap diecast (on liquidation sale) of one so that I had that generation represented. This one, I'd actually buy a model of it even though it's not great.

Re: Dallara Indycar
A bit too much body work toward the rear for my taste (especially for an open wheel car). The front half looks cool.
