Nope, i wouldn't think so the Kers unit is under the fuel tank and would not increase the length of the cylinder heads and block.

Just to clarify for me before I order the kit, does it have the old universal Cosworth engine from all their older kits or is it a new one?

Tamiya reuses the 'old' Ford Engine sprue from 1977 and the Rim's from the Lotus 78.

I started to paint some parts. I used silver which is GSI creos, Mr color for engine and monocoque.
