Takahara Surtees going slowly..
Hey guys,
Things are getting slow around here..to much to do around the house etc.. BUT I am still holding on to this one..
I just finished the ICON '76 rain tyres that replace the kits original ...I hope to finish it within two weeks..

Re: Takahara Surtees going slowly..
good luck..it's looking good. I find it really hard to stay interested in a model once the decals are on.
Another non front of the grid car!
I really like the wide-nosed wedge cars from that era.

Hi Alex,
Looks great,,, but your builds always look great!!
How did the tires fit the wheels, did you have to do anything special??
Thanks, Icon Modeler

Thanks for the kind words...The original kit wheels ( front and rear )are a bit wider than the Tamiya ones..I changed them for the Tamiya
plastic ones and for the rear wheels I used also Tamiya wheels ( P34). Because of this I had no problem in fitting the tyres,I just needed
to follow the Icon instruction sheet ..I will do the same thing with my Hasegawa T2 (change them for the Tamiya T3 wheels..) so they
will fit like a glove..!!

Hi Alex,
interesting car! I'm impressed with your clean layout of the car's parts. My modeling work place looks so much more chaotic.
Looking forward seeing the complete model.

Thanks..I have to admit I am a bit "neurotic"..I can only work in a clean place and thats maybe the reason that I takes me so long
to finish something...

Re: Takahara Surtees going slowly..
Looks like a real race car with those tyres & aggressive lines!
Question: Where do you get those dark coloured bases from? Do they have acrylic covers? I have models out in the open getting dust due to lack of decent display cases.
