Gary, Simply amazing work, the black box is superb. Protar? you're making it look better than a Tamiya kit, can,t wait to see it finished.

Re: Mclaren MP4/2C 1/12 protar
Hard to believe that this is the Protar kit, great job Gary! for your info, Museum Collection made a 1/12 decal sheet for the MP4/2, MP4/4 and MP4/6 all combined on the one sheet. I'm not sure if it is still available though - maybe Mac at Macsmodeling.com is able to get hold of one, or maybe at HLJ, Rainbow10 etc...

Looking great, display it uncovered because the body will not fit.

Very nice progress!
Re: Mclaren MP4/2C 1/12 protar
Gary that is becoming one awesome looking Mclaren unbelievable that this is a Protar kit,I would definately display this with the body work off to showw off that stunning detail,it would be a crime to cover up all that hardwork.
Truly inspirational cannot wait to see the finished build,it just goes to show that with patience and skill you can turn what is generally regarded as a poor kit can become a masterpiece.

Re: Mclaren MP4/2C 1/12 protar
Thanks everyone for the kind words.I figure i should do an update as i was finaly able to get some work done on the car.Just about had to rebuild the side pods from scratch as all that was left was the radiators and the side of the pods everything else was scratch built from plastic sheet and some of the spure for the tubes.I used heat shrink tubing for the couplings and aluminum tape for the bands also added catch screens for the radiator intakes. Thanks for looking and comments always welcomed.

Absolutely stunning work!! I have to agree with all who said before that you should display it finished with the bodywork off. Looking forward to seeing more .

Yes, your version definitely looks better. Great job. Very skillful modeling and quality build.
Pleasure to follow. Keep pushing. It's going to be great model when finished.

Seeing the quality of your build makes me wish I hadn't sold mine!
Over 8 years ago now, but I think it was too big a challenge for my skills to make it good.
I'd have followed your build WIP closely as it looks great, Rosberg or Prost?
