Good evening everybody, just starting on a new kit. The Ferrari 312T championship car from Nicky Lauda. Got a bargain on this one, 20 euro. Looks to be a great kit for 1/24th, pieces fit very well at first glance.
First thing I did was cleaning the rearwing and covering it with BMF, first time I used that, pollished it with chrome polish and looks great.
Does anybody have some reference pics of the engine? A well made 1/12 model would do.
Cheers, Arjen

They have made a Tyrrell 007 a mcLaren M23 and this one. No more. a pitty. They sell for big bucks on ebay because of the limited 1/24 models around. There's a mclaren on ebay now which sells for 65 dollars.

Re: Ferrari 312T marui 1/24
Sorry for my comment, but Hasegawa is going to release the same kit very soon - and the quality is many light-years better. So this kit is waste of time .
I did actually build the Tyrrell 007 back when the kit was new. I still remember the kit as toy-like .
I think they did the 1974 M@r!b*r* M23 and also a silver Martini Porsche Turbo 935. I did not buy them when they were released many years ago - I found the quality very bad compared to Tamiya .

Re: Ferrari 312T marui 1/24
The body shapes are very very good on these Marui kits, but they do lack engine detail. Alot of the older guys like 1/24th scale F1, so this is the only route.
Thank you Tamiya for screwing up the scales just so you could get a motor and batteries to fit in your Tyrrell P34 kit! It really does not make sense to built all your sportscars in 1/24th and F1 in 1/20th.
Rant is over. I just picked up the Hiro Ferrari 801 in 1/20th.
